Colombian Startups Identify $34.5 Million in Business and Investment Opportunities Following AmCham Colombia and Compensar Mission to Silicon Valley

30 de October de 2026

Ten Colombian startups held 171 business meetings with prospective clients, strategic partners, and international investors during a Silicon Valley mission that included participation in TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. Two startups also secured a combined $75,000 in investment.

BOGOTÁ, October 2026 (AmCham Colombia) — Ten Colombian startups identified $34,517,000 in potential business and investment opportunities, including prospective commercial deals and capital-raising opportunities, while two of the companies secured a combined $75,000 in investment during Global Startup Launchpad 2026, an international business mission organized by the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Colombia) in partnership with Compensar in San Francisco, California.

The mission connected Colombian entrepreneurs with investors, prospective customers, and key players in Silicon Valley’s technology ecosystem through a program that included participation in TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, business meetings, company visits, and institutional networking opportunities.

According to results reported by the participating companies, the ten startups held 171 business meetings, including 120 during TechCrunch Disrupt and 51 additional meetings throughout the mission.

Among the most significant outcomes was $75,000 in secured investment across two Colombian startups: Aluri, which closed a $50,000 investment, and Docokids, which secured $25,000.

The participating startups also reported $2,892,000 in prospective commercial deals and $31,625,000 in potential fundraising opportunities, bringing the total estimated value of identified business and investment opportunities to $34,517,000.

“These results demonstrate that Colombian entrepreneurs have the talent, innovation, and capabilities to compete in international markets. What we need is to continue connecting that potential with real opportunities for business, investment, and financing. At AmCham Colombia, together with Compensar, we are helping startups gain access to the U.S. business ecosystem so more companies can scale, expand internationally, and create jobs. The $34.5 million in identified opportunities and the investments already secured show what we can achieve when we help entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful businesses,” said María Claudia Lacouture, President of AmCham Colombia.

The results highlight the potential of Colombian technology startups to enter new markets, establish strategic partnerships, and connect their business models with international sources of capital.

For participating entrepreneurs, one of the mission’s most valuable benefits was direct access to investors who would otherwise be difficult to reach from Colombia.

Óscar Zapata of Aluri highlighted that he met with more than 15 international debt and equity investment funds during TechCrunch Disrupt. According to Zapata, these conversations helped establish relationships that could support the company’s next funding round, while also identifying strategic partners and expanding its network within the investment ecosystem.

Jerson, a representative of Cifrato, noted that the mission helped the company advance discussions with investment funds and secure follow-up meetings with several potential investors as part of its ongoing fundraising efforts.

Building Connections Across Silicon Valley’s Innovation Ecosystem

The Global Startup Launchpad 2026 agenda included participation in TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, where the startups attended industry conferences, connected with investors, participated in networking sessions, and explored emerging technologies.

The delegation also visited Cisco and Plug and Play Tech Center to gain insights into artificial intelligence, digital transformation, corporate innovation, and the mechanisms that connect startups with major corporations and venture capital firms.

As part of the mission’s institutional agenda, participants were welcomed at the Colombian Consulate in San Francisco by Consul Sonia Pereira. The meeting featured the in-person participation of Freddy Vega, CEO and Co-Founder of Platzi, and a virtual presentation by Hari Cherupalli, an artificial intelligence expert affiliated with Synopsys.

During the session, each of the ten startups presented its value proposition and business model, received feedback, and exchanged insights aimed at strengthening its ability to pitch to prospective partners and investors.

A Platform for International Business Expansion

The Silicon Valley mission marked the international phase of a specialized business development program delivered through Global Startup Launchpad 2026, designed to strengthen startups’ commercial capabilities, international expansion strategies, and readiness to enter the U.S. market.

Through this initiative, AmCham Colombia and Compensar are helping Colombian startups expand globally by facilitating connections that can lead to new investment, commercial partnerships, business growth, and job creation.
